PREDO: You came runner-up in Europredo, losing on the last day to your arch-nemesis Jude. How have you managed to come to terms with this?
SPEEDIE: To be honest I’ve not really accepted it. It's been two long years and not a day goes past when I don’t imagine Jude’s smug little face smugly waving at me from the deck of HMS Smug on route to Smugville (the capital of Smugland). The hour of reckoning is upon us.
PREDO: Devon Loch. Jean van der Velde. Neil Kinnock. Liverpool in the Premier League era. What does Speedie possess to get out of this company?
SPEEDIE: Only up to date on one of these
PREDO: A diplomatic answer. Tom H has been ebullient about his chances. Is he right to be?
SPEEDIE: He’ll no doubt beat me by one or two points. He has form for putting in minimum effort yet still doing better than me!
PREDO: Finally Speedie, this tournament sees the arrival of Twist to the major predo landscape. Do you have a message for the fiery Evertonian?
SPEEDIE: All I’ll say is that I still haven’t forgotten that night about 10 years ago when he rocked up at my flat looking for a place to crash! If things get tight between me and him I expect him to remember this night and do me a solid by throwing his points.
